So, in an effort to maybe converse with some Chinese, I picked up Rosetta Stone. This learning a new language, especially Chinese is weird! Rosetta Stone's idea is total immersion, no English, just Chinese. So, what I do know is running, swimming, man, woman, boy, girl, things like that, but I don't know how it all fits together.
Has anyone ever done Rosetta Stone?

Loser!
Like you should talk to your mother...being in charge of technology at a college I can tell you about Rosetta Stone,...I bought it for one, recommended to your sister...grrrrrr.
BTW you need a blog pimpping.
Love mom
And why don't you write me more often...ever heard of email?
Nap is sending us over. . . I worked with RS learning Polish a few years ago when we thought we would be living there for a few years. My opinion (as a former high school Spanish teacher) is that it is helpful IN ADDITION to grammar/mechanics instruction. Do I think you could seriously learn a language more complicated than Spanish (or maybe another Romance lang) with RS? Not at all. You still need the detailed instruction--you just can't pick it up and generalize it from that type of "immersion". Sorry for the long comment!
Interesting to know.
