Not much! This is a hard language. But my neighbor, who use to do business in China, gave me some key sayings! I can now order a beer! What else do I really need to know?
Less than a month away, I have my airline confirmation, hotel is set, got my passport back complete with the Chinese Visa, but there is still lots to work out!I am going to be working there, editing videos to air all over the world. So there is a lot to get in order before I get on the plane. I am sure, even with three weeks to get ready, time will fly.
So, in an effort to maybe converse with some Chinese, I picked up Rosetta Stone. This learning a new language, especially Chinese is weird! Rosetta Stone's idea is total immersion, no English, just Chinese. So, what I do know is running, swimming, man, woman, boy, girl, things like that, but I don't know how it all fits together.
So here is the deal, I am working the Olympics in Beijing, China. . In one month I get on a plane, fly 13 hours (over the North Pole) and into Beijing. This blog will journal my experiences leading up to and working at the Olympics!
Right now, all I know is I have tickets to Opening and Closing Ceremonies. The rest, will be played by ear!
